How did you hear about the Arise® Platform?

My story is kind of funny because I was working in retail and was doing part-time work with a pharmaceutical company where I could set my own hours.

While working outside the home, I received a call one day from someone who said they had a friend who services a cruise line company from home. 

Well, everyone knows that cruising is my favorite thing to do, and I was like, “say what?” [Laughs].

So, I went on a Google search, thinking, “How is she doing this?” And I came across the Arise® Platform.

And let me tell you, I am a very fearful person when it comes to something I am not familiar with, so when I pulled up the website—and this was near the end of 2019—I said to myself, “I don’t know. Is this real, or is it not?”

I built my profile, went through registration, and it has been the best thing since!

As a single mother, I could set my own hours and work when I wanted to work, and of course, retail doesn’t allow that.

Although I could set my own schedule with the pharmaceutical company, I had to drive about 20 minutes away to do that. The Arise® Platform enables me to work from home.

How long have you been using the Arise® Platform?

For three years. I just came up to my three-year anniversary!

What do you like most about servicing the cruise line client?

I love cruising and I love talking to guests about destinations that they go to.

When I am speaking to customers, I use the opportunity not only to help the guest but for the guest to assist me—because I love picking guests’ brains about the different itineraries.

I’ve learned more about cruising from some of the guests than I have by cruising myself! And I started cruising in 2015 and fell in love. Last year I took 4 cruises and I have some planned for this year as well!

I have serviced with other clients, but I love servicing the cruise client and cruising—so I get to do what I love.

What do you like most about using the Arise® Platform?

What I love about the Arise® Platform is the flexibility. I can work when I want to work. 

In 2024, I just want to be solely working from home doing something where I can set my own schedule—and I am holding on to this opportunity with the Arise® Platform because it is going to help me reach my goal.

Although I have a full-time job now, I don’t want to do that anymore! I want something that provides total flexibility and lets me go out and do the things I enjoy doing.

And I have learned so much about myself by using the Arise® Platform. 

I’ve learned being an entrepreneur is for me. It is so relaxing and stress-free on those days when I can wake up in the morning and decide that today I am going to do this, this, this, and this!

In fact, my dad asks my mom, “How does she have the time to take all these cruises?” 

I tell him, “Don’t worry about it” [Laughs].

How has your use of the Arise® Platform improved your life, personal, and professional goals?

Well, I am a single mother, and when I moved to South Carolina, I moved because, as an educator, it was better financially. While in South Carolina, I learned quickly that reciprocity in education does not mean reciprocity. I wasn’t highly-qualified in South Carolina—and that was a shock to me.

After getting a new teaching job, climbing out of debt, working on a PhD, and working a part-time job in retail—and I was doing fine—I wanted a house, but I had all these student loans.

I always ask, “where was [The Arise® Platform] then?” I had no knowledge of the Arise® Platform back then.

When I tell you a busted my tail and I worked, I did—I was servicing three clients. 

I was taking the revenue I earned from servicing on the Arise® Platform and paying off bills so I could get approved for the house I am in now. 

I closed on the house in December 2021, and you know, people ask me how I was able to do it. 

I say, “the Arise® Platform.”

That is the only way I could do it. I was still limited at other opportunities, but with the Arise® Platform, I could service multiple clients and make the revenue I needed to pay off those bills and save up.

I would not be in my house now if it weren’t for the Arise® Platform!

How would you describe a typical experience for someone servicing the cruise line client?

Once you get out of certification, it’s pretty much flexible. You just have to be dedicated going through certification—and you have to be self-motivated. 

Nobody is going to tell you that you need to log into the computer for certification, nobody is going to tell you that you need to select intervals to service, and nobody is going to tell you to show up for the intervals you selected.

A lot of people would love to do this—but they need to be self-motivated.

For the most part, it is fun. I’ve done sales, and I’m doing customer service now. From my experience, you talk to a lot of upbeat guests.

There is no other experience like the cruise line opportunity.

It is a whole experience—beginning to end. I mean, the name speaks for itself.

Everybody I talked to who services the cruise line client says that they have not found the same experience anywhere else.

Do you have any advice for those who are new to the Arise® Platform and/or the cruise line client opportunity?

Just always be open-minded to receive feedback and give yourself some grace. I think that’s the big one for me. 

We tend to be more critical of ourselves than other people, and when you are certifying on any new client, give yourself some grace.

While you may make a mistake, the biggest thing to ask is: “How can I learn from that mistake?”

Tell yourself: “I’m not going to make that mistake again—I will not make that mistake again.”

And remember the purpose of feedback is to help you get better and better!

I am very appreciative of the opportunity to partner with the Arise® Platform.

I always say, “I wish I would have known about this back when I was a little ol’ 26-year-old.”

How did you hear about the Arise® Platform? 

I learned about it from Facebook but was using another platform prior, so I looked into Arise, and discovered nothing but wonderful things about the Arise® Platform. 

How long have you been using the Arise® Platform? 

About a year! I literally just thought about it—and it is crazy—it’ll be a year in May. Working from home has been great for me because I was diagnosed with RA. I just couldn’t take the pain I had in my hands and feet anymore, which is why I looked into working from home. 

The Arise® Platform has been extremely beneficial to me because I have been able to help my other half with responsibilities and not suffer as badly as I was.  It’s a great thing—and using the Arise® Platform enables us to be business owners. 

What do you like most about the Arise® Platform? 

The thing that I love most about the Arise® Platform is that I have been able to build my own business and build it at a pace that I can handle where I am not throwing too much at myself while servicing.  

It has been a process this last year and it’s still not fully underway.  I’m in the process of building tutorials for new agents who do not have experience in customer service. I believe that any agents who provide service on the Arise® Platform will benefit from it. I am also currently servicing the home improvement supplier client and am in certification for another one. 

What do you like most about servicing the home improvement supplier? 

The fact that the hours are there, and I can do what I love doing: assisting customers. 

I have been able to put my own little touch on things and touch the hearts of customers that call without having to be face to face with them. The fact that I can still help people whole-heartedly and know that they’re happy and appreciative means so much—because we get customers who have concerns about deliveries, and we can make it right for them.

The fact that the customers have a positive experience with customer service—you know, they get a live person, and we get to help them—is great. 

Why do you think you connected so well with home improvement supplier? 

I mean, the fact that I’ve been able to help people, which is what I love doing—and I’m just like my father—I will go out of my way to help someone.  

I can still do that with my health problems and know it’s appreciated while I’m doing the right thing for the customer. 

The fact that I can touch someone’s life and show them that there are people who do care is wonderful. 

How has your use of the Arise® Platform improved your life personally and professionally? 

Well, my other half has gotten us two English Bulldogs. I can still be home with them—all the time—which has been very beneficial. They—besides my kids who are my heart and joy—are my life. 

Has there been a time while servicing that you feel you have positively impacted someone’s day or life by providing excellent customer service or support? Please tell us about it. 

Absolutely! During Christmas time, I had a customer call about their package.

Their package was delivered, but it was placed in the driveway. The customer—not knowing it was in the driveway—ran it over.  

It ended up being Christmas decorations that he wanted to put outside for his kids.  

This single father was doing everything he could to show his kids everything that Christmas was about, and to me, that is very old- fashion—just like how I was raised, so I did everything I could to fix the situation and have those packages resent out to him the next day—and, you know—help him make his kid’s Christmas! 

It actually makes me get teary-eyed because it touched me in a way that I never thought my heart could be touched. 

Knowing I could help a single father do what my father did for me just touched me in ways you will never understand.  

The fact that I was able to be a part of that…. 

It is something that will be with me for a lifetime. 

Do you have any advice for those who are new to using the Arise® Platform? 

Step outside of your comfort zone. It’s scary initially, but once you’re over the fear, it’s so beneficial!  I also became very good friends with many of the people I was in class with. 

Is there anything else you would like others to know about the Arise® Platform? 

I mean, is there anything not to love? 

To be able to stay home, for me to be with my dogs—there are parents who can be home with their kids—that is a wonderful thing! The Arise® Platform is giving people back opportunities they didn’t think they had anymore, especially after everything that happened during the pandemic. This is also the reason I became a Service Partner: to let people know that there are still opportunities out there—and we just happen to be very lucky that we get to service Fortune 500 companies!  It’s also nice to know that the Arise® Platform is wanting to know what is going on with its Service Partners—and that gives me a really good feeling!

How long have you been using the Arise® Platform and servicing the medical transportation client?

I have been using the Arise® Platform since 2019, and I started using the platform because I liked the idea of becoming my own boss and making my own schedule. I am actually the first out of my family to be my own boss! I started servicing the medical transportation client in October of last year and liked it because my grandparents use this service. I go with them for some of their appointments, so I know the importance of medical transportation and keep this in mind while servicing.

What do you like about using the Arise® Platform?

The support. I love speaking with the chat PFs on the Arise® Platform. They aren’t always able to talk— but they can always talk with us through chat and provide support when we need it.

Do you have any advice for those who are new to the Arise® Platform or the medical transportation client?

Really take your time to connect with the members and understand your guidelines—and the importance of making sure an appointment is scheduled correctly.

Why do you think you connected so well with the medical transportation client?

Because my grandmother lost her eyesight, I understand the importance of getting to appointments on time. I took her to appointments, got her there on time, helped her take her medication. I realize the importance of this service—and delivering customer service for other members.

Is there anything else you would like to share about the medical transportation client?

I just feel, with medical transportation, it comes more easily when you talk to members. They’re more honest and caring, and they love speaking with a live person.

How long have you serviced the Medical Transportation Client on the Arise® Platform?

I have been on the Arise® Platform since 2013. It has always been my go-to for earning extra revenue. I am not able to get around like I used to do so it’s easier for me to sit at a desk and take calls. I have been servicing the medical transportation client since November, and I was referred to the opportunity by a friend of mine who has been servicing with them for two years.

Why did you start using the Arise® Platform?

The Arise® Platform enabled me to get out of the rat race and commuting to work. You see, I moved from Chicago to Tennessee, and after moving to Tennessee, I became really sick, couldn’t work, and needed to stay at home. By using the Arise® Platform, I am able to still work!

What type of calls do you take?

With the medical transportation client, I actually look forward to getting on the phone. I help individuals book their medical transportation. When I first sign on, I always greet the member with a smile and friendly voice—they pick up on that. You have to be patient to answer the phones and be able to put yourself in their shoes and how they’re feeling. I’ve been there. I’ve had to use transportation, so I know how it is.

If you could share any advice with a new agent on the opportunity, what would it be?

Go for it! It’s a good client and a great opportunity! I have a medical background, and I was actually a medical assistant. I can’t do that anymore, but it has given me the opportunity to use my existing skills even though I cannot go out to work anymore. My PCS scores show it! [Laughs]

What’s your favorite thing about the Arise® Platform?

The ease with my schedule. I can schedule when I want to work and for how long. It works around my needs, and that’s not the only reason why. As long as I am servicing on the phone, I know I’m earning revenue. That’s good for me.
